Our Masdevallia page has been updated with some colorful and unique hybrids. We hope to add more in the near future. Masdevallias are orchids endemic to South and Central America, north into Mexico. Most are cool growing, and thus appropriate plants for Pacific Northwest collections. There is, however, a range of temperature tolerance, and one of our breeding objectives is to increase this range in our hybrids. The photo shows HV1002 Masdevallia Rebecca reg. 1893 and not seen in 100 years. These are blooming in brilliant candy stripe colors of pink, violet, and red.
